Syamsir Alam made a wonderful debut with DC United

February 22, 2013 • Sport

Syamsir Alam, an Indonesian soccer player hired at a US club, DC United made a wonderful play at his debut performance. The 20-year old player contributed significantly to his team particularly in preventing it from a loss when playing against Philadelpia Union, Florida, USA, 21/2/13.

Alam himself played starting from the 63rd minute when DC United was under pressure with 0-1 score. Union scored first when it made a goal on the 39th minute through the kick of Chandler Hoffman after being assisted by Don Anding.

The first half of the game was 0-1 for DC United.

On the 63rd minute, the DC United coach Bel Olsen played Syamsir Alam, a correct decision that later created a fruitful result. The West Sumatera-born player did not make the goal, but he played the most important role in parring the score for DC United.

It was just 6 minutes after Alam played that he made the defence players of Union busy. As a result, the back player Greg Jordan had to make a mistake in the penalty box when trying to stop Alam’s movement. It was Kyle Porter who was asked to execute the penalty kick and fortunately he could do his job perfectly.

The above-mentioned movement was not the only the wonderful play made by Alam. A moment later, DC United almost won when Alam gave a crossing feed to Porter. Unfortunately Porter was not able to make it as his kick hit the goal pillar.

Nonetheless, Alam’s wonderful debut was highly appreciated by many.
